Hello! My name is India Walton. I am a graduating senior at the Illustrious Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana. My major is Mass Communication with a concentration in Multimedia Journalism and a minor in English. This summer I was afforded the opportunity to be a Press Intern for The Committee on Homeland Security and during the fall semester of my senior year, I am a Communications Intern for New Orleans City Councilwoman Helena Moreno. In my time at Dillard University, I have remained an active leader on campus. I work in the Office of Recruitment, Admissions and Programming as a work-study student, and soon was assigned the task as being a social media liaison to allow prospective students the opportunity to get a feel of campus before committing to our university. During my junior year, my advisor appointed me the position as Editor-in-chief of The Courtbouillon, our university’s school newspaper. I am a member of the Thompson/Cook Honors Program, Alpha Chi Honor Society, the elected Vice President of Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society and a Charter member of the Dillard University Chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America. I am a recipient of the Dean’s scholarship and a National Newspaper Publishers Association Foundation Scholarship recipient and have been recognized for being on the Dean’s list every semester. My birthday is July 23, my favorite color is blue, I love vanilla coke and snickers and I am the oldest human child of two dogs, Blizzard and Oliver. During my free time, I enjoy writing, reading books, watching a good movie, spending time with my family and exploring the city of New Orleans.
