About Alejandro
I consider myself a storyteller first and a filmmaker second. I truly believe that pretty pictures without soul and purpose are simply just that, pretty pictures. Every project I take on, whether it's a documentary, corporate vignette, or commercial, I always rely on story to drive every decision made in crafting content that speaks and resonates with audiences on a deeper human level. My work has taken me from the headquarters of fortune 500 companies to impoverish villages in rural Ghana. I've had the opportunity to interview industry leaders, dreamers, artists, innovators, underdogs, victims of abuse, terminally ill patients, and activists. From bigger than life characters to normal everyday working people, we all have a story to share and yet good stories only happen to those who can tell them. I am grateful and blessed to continue my pursuit of happiness and passion to craft good stories that challenge the way we think and speak to the heart to move the mind. Over the years my work has been recognized with numerous awards including 5 Emmys and 1 Telly, and yet I feel I've only just scratched the surface. When I am not behind a camera or computer I enjoy spending quality time with my family hiking a trail, traveling, getting our hands dirty in the veggie garden or playing with our dog and chickens.

Voices for Freedom: The Hyers Sisters' Legacy
- Documentary DP
PBS Documentary In perilous 1870's and 80's, when the troops that had protected African Americans after the Civil War were removed from the South and night riders and lynching terrorized African Americans, The Hyers Sisters (African-American, touring-opera prodigies) stood up against the denigration of their people to become Voices for Freedom. The works that they created integrated casting for the first time, brought the first black leading players to Music Theater, and became the first AMERICAN musicals. These works lovingly changed minds and hearts for 20 years and influenced the musicals to come. Yet The Hyers remain unsung -- 'til now.
