Daniele (Italy, 1981) is award-winning documentary photographer based in Guatemala. He was recently awarded with 2nd place as Photographer of the Year in Latin America 2015, 3th place in News Series category and Honorable Mention in News Single category, all at POY Latam 2015. Also awarded at NPPA-Best of Photojournalism, POY international. Honorable Mentions at Photocrati Fund 2014-2015. and among the finalists at The Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Grant, 2014. Finalist at FotoEvidence Book Award 2015. Selected for Annual New York Portfolio Review sponsored by the New York Times Lens blog, 2015. Shortlisted at Athens Photo Festival 2015. Graduated in “Storytelling and New Media”, a annual course promoted by Fundacion Pedro Meyer and World Press Photo, Mexico. He won a scholarship with which he participated in the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop 2014. In Octuber, 2015 he will attend at Eddie Adams Workshop. His project “Guatemala – Ixil Genocide” was exhibited several times worldwide.
