About David

I run a small documentary/commercial production shop outside Portland, OR. Shooting with FX6, FS7, A7SII, Mavic Pro 3 and DJI Ronins, I've shot and edited videos for non-profits and corporate clients in locations from Portland, OR to rural Georgia to Indonesia. I work solo, with my brother, and larger crews depending on the client and scope. I am a FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot and have flown and shot footage in urban to wilderness settings. I speak Spanish and am comfortable in challenging social and/or physical environments with alpine mountaineering skills, expedition experience, and months spent navigating in the wilderness. Our full-length doc film "Who Owns Water" has aired on Georgia Public Broadcasting, Maryland Public TV, and been awarded in numerous film festivals, including Telluride Mountainfilm. Clients include: Starbucks, REI, Mendi, The New Yorker, Hood River Tourism, Tofurky, Le Monde France, Nike, Leafly, WhyHunger, Mode Media, American Rivers.

This 50-minute feature documentary follows my brother and I as we paddle from source to sea on our childhood rivers in Georgia. A decades-old water war between GA-FL-AL has spurred a contentious debate over water allocation. In this film we meet the ordinary people living near the river to put a ground-level perspective on what a modern-day water war means and how to approach a solution.
