Happs is a digital startup created by a team of accomplished innovators from journalism, technology, documentary film, news, and international media.   Award-winning journalist Laura Ling, former head of the Vanguard investigative team at Current TV, is our Head of Original Content. David Neuman, former Chief Programming Officer of CNN and President of Programming for Current TV and Channel One, is our Chief Creative Officer.  Mark Goldman, founding president of Sky Latin America, and former Chief Operating Officer of Current TV, is our CEO.  Together and separately, we’ve helped launch the careers of journalists including: Anderson Cooper, Lisa Ling, Mariana van Zeller, Christof Putzel, Adam Yamaguchi, Kaj Larsen, Gotham Chopra, Serena Altschul, Conor Knighton, Tracy Smith, Jason Silva, and others. 

Now we’re creating a network dedicated to live streaming the most fascinating, important, interesting “happenings” going on in our world.  Through 20 min to 1 hour live streams, where viewers can interact with journalists on the ground in real time, we're building an exciting new destination where important stories about the world are being told in the most up-close-and-personal way possible.

As a reporter, I've worked for two of the major newspapers in Brazil, O Globo and Jornal do Brasil, as well as the biggest latin american news website, UOL and internacional news sites, such as Mongabay, NBC and Fox Latino. 

As a TV news producer | reporter, I've worked for several international companies, such as BBC|Panorama, Deutsche Welle, NatGeo, ARN Network, Globo, among others, and produced some livestream for the app Happs. 

I've also worked as a translator for Panda Books and as a researcher for the World Bank, Fiocruz, Columbia University (SIPA) and dutch Tv, Channel 3.

I've contributed for Andrew Jenning's book, "Omertà", cowriting one of the chapters. 

In 2012, I was granted with the Sebrae Economic Journalism Award, for the story about the growing economy in Rio's slums, that I wrote for Jornal do Brasil.

In 2014, I was granted with Columbia Journalism Fellowship for the Age Boom Academy Program, in New York City.
