By next year, visitors to the Maryland State House can expect to be greeted in the Old House Chamber by two escaped slaves from Maryland, Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass. The development of the figures is now underway by New York-based StudioEIS, which is working to shift the narrative on slavery and how historical figures are perceived through art.
