Daniel Quintanilla is a documentary filmmaker, editor, and virtual reality storyteller who grew up in Mexico and now lives in the U.S. In 2018, Daniel edited the VICE/MOTHERBOARD feature documentary titled "The Most Unknown", now available on Netflix. Over ten years working in the field, he has directed and produced numerous short-format documentaries, both independent and commercial, throughout the world. Most recently, Daniel created the 360-degree film series "A Shared Space", the newest film "Returning to Dadaab" is now on tour in the U.S.
Not a Citizen is the story of Abdi Ali, a 28 year-old permanent resident from Maine, who was detained by ICE in a Portland courthouse while meeting with his attorney about an OUI charge.
