“Karim Philippe Saad was born in Beirut, Lebanon and he is now been living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates since 2007. Karim is holder of a bachelor degree in Communication Arts from the renowned Saint Joseph University in Beirut. He then went to Paris to undergo many specialized studies in 16mm film editing, sound & image. He made his debut in Lebanon in the TV production industry where he was mainly responsible for the production of TV shows, commercials & promotional films. His love for strong visuals helped him go further in his career and in 2013, Karim started exploring virtual reality filmmaking, which was a turning point in his professional life. In 2014 Karim established Giga Works in Dubai, his virtual reality (VR) film studio, offering 360º content capture and storytelling, VR experience, and customized GigaBox cardboards. Karim created and produced the first VR experience for marketing use in the Middle East for Rainbow Milk. He produced the local and international award winning VR experience for “Wild Wadi Water Park” – Jumeirah Group. Karim’s work also involved production of short documentaries and VR experiences for DP World, DEWA, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Strata, Etihad Rail and Dubai Design District; as well as user experiences for Mercedes Benz Middle East, Dodge North America, Columbia and Ski Dubai. Karim has been invited as guest speaker at the MENA Cristal, Dubai International Film Festival and ITCfest; had numerous interviews with Al Arabiya News TV Channel and MIT Technology review. His work and biography were published in several articles, to name a few, Arabian Business, Communicate, Gulf News and many more where he was referred to as a “Leader in his field”. When not glued in his office, Karim loves to escape in his Defender and capture nature from it’s most minute details to it’s 360º splendor.

Karim was the best thing that could have happened to this project! He is a total professional, responsive at all hours of the day, kind and on top of it all. He is a great communicator, organized and everything was delivered on time. He made shooting in a foreign country as smooth as one would dream of and I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

Commissioned by HUG digital agency, my role was to produce and execute the content capture of the biggest indoor snow park in the world, inside a shopping mall. I've done the capture of the content, sound & image, post-production. The content was used in shopping malls to drive more people to the park. And it actually did very very well.

Commissioned by OMD, I was requested to create a Virtual Reality Tour Experience of one of the oldest water parks in Dubai. The content was used in shopping malls kiosks. The activation was a great success and the client used the content for more than a year. It also won many local as well as international awards.

Commissioned by Socialize, (an independant full-service agency) to create a driving experience for the latest model of Mercedes Benz flagship car, the all new E-Class.
Produced for Xpoze
Commissioned by XPOSE, i was responsible for producing the whole VR Documentory for DP World. I did the shoot in 360º, editing / post production. The content was used in Dubai during an annual government event called: Innovation Week of the UAE.
