Ana Soledad Ahumada studied Image and Sound desing at Buenos Aires University and Direction of Photography at SICA. She works as a freelance director, camera operator, editor and cinematographer for several production companies. She has directed many documentary short films for the Argentinean Agriculture Ministry across the country. In 2014 Soledad won the Witness contest for Latin-American projects which allowed her to direct her own documentary called “Eugenio`s Close up” for Al Jazeera International. The same year she started the project Perro Polar with his brother providing services such as filming, editing, animation,etc. Currently Soledad lives between Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Rio de Janeiro (Brasil) working on different type of productions and projects, open to travel behind new stories. Soledad has recently worked as Art Director in the web series Minga, which won the Biennal of young people Buenos Aires. She has taken part in many social and cultural projects. Since 2016 she attends regularly to the favelas observatory at Mare in Rio de Janeiro, to study and work on strategies regarding topics such as territory, innovation and information and communication technologies on slums.

Ana was excellent to work with. She pitched a great idea to us and understood any tweaks we made to it 100%. The resulting video she produced was very nicely filmed, on time and with hardly any amendments needed - she understood our requirements and style immediately. Ana did a great job on this video, her camerawork is great and the drone shots work really well. She got some strong interviews out of her subjects and worked with us well to create a great final piece. We would definitley work with her again.

A traditional percussion instrument made a hollow tree trunk and leather patches, it is the pulse that gives life to the Andean and Argentine folk music. The old forest, filled of legends and mysticism, up to today a survivor of the heat, drought and felling.
