About

I am an environmental and development journalist from India. I have almost 15 years of experience in reporting for national and international media on these issues. I have won many national and international fellowships. I won the Statesman award for environmental reporting in 2015. I was one of the journalists selected by the UN for water-energy workshop for World Water Day in Tokyo in 2014. I was a Deutsche Welle Climate Change Reporting Fellow (South Asia) 2013. I also won the IUCN Ecosystems for life fellowship, an India-Bangladesh Initiative on transboundary water issues. I write for print and online medium, produce video stories and take photographs. I write in English, and my mother tongue Tamil. I received the highest award for environmental journalism in Asia, the Asian Environmental Journalism Award in 2019 under two categories- environmental journalist of the year and environmental story of the year. I also won the prestigious Prem Bhatia award for excellence in environmental reporting in 2019. I received the Earth Journalism Network grant to pursue stories from the archipelagos of Andaman islands.
