Missing and forgotten
The disappearance of Amarildo de Souza in the world famous favela da Rocinha shed light over Rio de Janeiro's impressive rate of missing people: more than 6.000 per year. A considerable part of these disappearances, just like in the case of Amarildo, covers murders executed by by police, traffickers and militia members. This investigative report aimed to unveil this once overlooked situation.
