Like the Mountain - short documentary (2017)
"Like the Mountain" tells the story of Ahmad Shamieh, an asylum seeker from Syria living in Slovenia since 2015. Faced with deportation, unemployed, and greatly missing his family, Ahmad nonetheless finds different ways to cope with his situation. The director creates a safe, intimate space for him to express himself, and the result is a gentle and sensible film. "Like the Mountain" is Andreea Udrea's debut in documentary filmmaking.
