Happs is a digital startup created by a team of accomplished innovators from journalism, technology, documentary film, news, and international media.   Award-winning journalist Laura Ling, former head of the Vanguard investigative team at Current TV, is our Head of Original Content. David Neuman, former Chief Programming Officer of CNN and President of Programming for Current TV and Channel One, is our Chief Creative Officer.  Mark Goldman, founding president of Sky Latin America, and former Chief Operating Officer of Current TV, is our CEO. Nüshu, the women-only script, was used to communicate with intimate female relatives and friends in the midst of a highly patriarchal society, as women were deprived of their rights for education.

Pu Lijuan, a Nüshu practitioner, hopes to rescue this dying culture by transforming it into an on-stage dance performance.

After caring for her grandmother with dementia, Hailey Richman wanted to help raise awareness about helping a loved one with the disease. She has started the organization Kid Caregivers and was appointed the assistant director of Puzzles to Remember. These both help those with Alzheimer’s by encouraging caregivers to spend time with their loved ones and give them fun activities to do.
