Holly Bootman is a British documentary filmmaker dedicated to exploring the intersections of economics, culture, community and society. Her academic journey includes an undergraduate degree International Social and Public Policy and Economics from the LSE, which has inspired her filmmaking throughout her MA in Documentary Film at the University of the Arts London. Holly aims to make films which navigate the complexities of human experiences, shedding light on the impact of economic systems, the dynamics of democracy, the strength of communities, and the nuances of socio-political landscapes. Viewing film as a dynamic form of communication, activism and research, Holly appreciates films which challenge perspectives and encourage meaningful conversations about the fabric of our society.
This short film was made as part of "Doc in a Day", a film competition where filmmakers come together to create a documentary in 36 hours. As producer-director, my role was to carve a narrative for this film, having been given the theme "Atmosphere". This interview film was a part of a series of videos as part of Festival For Change, hosted by Promoting Economic Pluralism. I assisted in the organisation of the events, creating the social media and communications strategy, and filming a series of speaker events with the team. This film is an interview with Maria Paz Cigaran, Maria is co-founder/CEO of Libelula, B Corp and Think Tank whose mission is to foster a community of transformation.
