I'm a student at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, studying journalism and minoring in political science. I've reported on a wide range of issues, from seismic testing along the east coast to sexual assault among college students. I enjoy creating content that educates the public on lesser known issues that deserve more attention as well as writing stories/ producing videos that focus on subjects most people feel uncomfortable talking about. I've worked with the mayor of St. Augustine on various projects as well as reporters from CBS 12 in West Palm Beach, Florida, on a story about President Trump's "fake news" claims and their effects on what it's like to be a journalist during his presidency. I have also interned for Voice of America in Washington, D.C. for their documentary unit. We worked on a three-part series about the Parkland shooting that was published on VOA's website.
This photo story pictures victims of sexual assault at the locations of their assault and documents important statistics involving the frequency of sexual abuse on and off college campuses. My goal with this photo story was to show viewers that sexual assault can happen anywhere at any time to anyone and that it happens more often than the average person would think.
This article details a few of the many health benefits that come with changing to a vegan lifestyle. It documents different places around St. Augustine, Florida, that serve a variety of vegan dishes that can help to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of future heart disease.
This story covers the effects of offshore seismic testing on marine life along the east coast. Leaders of St. Augustine's Environmental Youth Council, environmental science professors from Flagler College and the University of Florida and Senator Bill Nelson all commented on this issue, providing the community with information on a topic that is not often covered in regards to oil drilling.
