Documentaries are my passion. My feature-length films HIT and LA FLOR DE LA VIDA (a Sundance Institute grantee) premiered in festivals including IDFA, True/False, Docs Barcelona and Bafici, and received, among others, an Audience Award at Festival de Malaga (Spain), a Special Jury Prize at It’s All True (Brazil), an award for best national film and two best film editing awards by Uruguay's Film Critics' Association. Currently, I'm working on a new film with co-director Claudia Abend, MOTHERS IN SILENCE, which tells stories of contemporary motherhood in a world where traditional roles of gender and family are being re-written. Aside from film, I've worked as a journalist for several media outlets, including Television Nacional Uruguay and AFP. Now, I contribute regularly with Univision Digital as a film editor, where my credits include RISING UP IN THE HEARTLAND, nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy, winner of an Online Journalism Award for Topical Reporting, and First Place Winner - Documentary Journalism at Picture of the Year International. As a content producer, I have directed and edited dozens of pieces on development issues, climate change, migration and gender for multilateral organizations including UNICEF, UNESCO, the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank. I have an M.A. in Journalism and Latin American Studies from New York University, through a Fulbright Scholarship, and a B.A. in Communication from the Catholic University of Uruguay.
