I am a freelance producer and journalist with seventeen years in media production including work with National Geographic, the US State Department, and many boutique production companies in the Washington, DC area. I am intimately connected to the production community in DC. Most recently I have been serving as a Field Producer with the US Foreign Press Center and for the National Association of Broadcasters. I cover local and grassroots themes in the Washington area and eastern US. I earned a journalism scholarship from the Maine Community Foundation for graduate studies and have a Masters of Fine Art in Film. Finally I am a full one woman band with a 4K DSLR, wireless mics, and in-house editing studio.
I produced a 12 part educational online course on gardening for The Teaching Company. My role in production included all creative decisions regarding location, field and studio direction, and editing.
"Eating is an indispensable human activity. As a result, whether we realize it or not, the drive to obtain food has been a major catalyst across all of history, from prehistoric times to the present. Epicure Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin said it best: "Gastronomy governs the whole life of man."" I served as the studio producer of this 36 part educational series.
"Cosmology. Neurology. Genetics. Chemistry. These are just a few of many fascinating branches of the scientific world ripe for exploration. But because science is such a vast arena of knowledge, people looking for a better grasp of its secrets often wonder where to begin. The answer: with the essentials." I produced this 24 part educational series covering major themes in science.
