Murders and disappearances along the 'Highway of Tears'
At first glance, Highway 16 looks like a normal highway. In recent decades, dozens of young, indigenous women have disappeared here. Local residents therefore nicknamed the highway the 'Highway of Tears', or the Highway of Tears. "Girls, don't hitchhike," a sign on the side of the road says in large letters. For a long time there was no attention for things in Canada, but that is now slowly changing. Report for Nieuwsuur, broadcast on January 15, 2020.
