Ulises Rodriguez is a Salvadoran photographer with university studies in Sciences and Humanities from the University of El Salvador. He graduated as a photography assistant, photographer and editor at the Deutsche Pop school in Munchen, Germany. He worked as a photographer at EFE news agency in El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and Haiti. He worked as a photographer for Reuters agency in El Salvador. He has also worked as an independent documentary photographer, where his project on the Bavarian society in northern Germany (Munchen), a project on the first Nazi death camp, (Munchen) Germany, stands out. He is currently carrying out a graphic project with local surfers on El Zonte beach, El Salvador, where he lives.
The leaders of El Salvador's two most powerful gangs, Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) and their rival Calle 18 decided in March 2012 to end the fighting and killing among them to reduce the alarming murder rates in the impoverished country.
