About Htoo

Htoo Tay Zar is a documentary photographer, fixer based in Yangon, Myanmar. Tayzar was one of the pioneer bloggers in Myanmar and followed his passion to become a full-time photojournalist. He has worked for local newspapers and European Pressphoto Agency, and some of his photography projects have been featured in International Herald Tribune and Bangkok Post. He was also one of the finalists selected for Photojournalists Under 25 by The Boston Globe.

    After the cyclone Nargis devastated delta region of Burma in 2008, some of the survivor families from the area had decided to move other parts of the country as their paddy fields were destroyed by salty water. Some families moved to outskirts of capital Yangon and start making bricks to built up their life.

They have two branches, one in Kachin state, closed to China borderline and one is in Karen state. I've decided to document what is their life in the jungle.
