With a strong visual eye and a creative mind, I approach storytelling like a puzzle. How can I bring this to life? How can I take a simple idea and give it a voice and a vision? How can I manage, coach and mentor people to think creatively and communicate more effectively? I’ve concentrated on these questions for nearly a decade, as I’ve directed, produced, shot and edited video in a variety of roles. As video director at MOKO Social Media, I developed an entire video department from the ground up. In just a few weeks, I’d built out a studio, coached staff and launched production. In a few months, I created seven video franchises specializing in fitness and politics to be sold and sponsored independently. At Voice of America I co-created and launched ‘People in America’ a new visual series and style of storytelling, diving deep in the lives and emotions of various individuals. From Andy Shallal, Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, to Maz Jobrani, these are stories unlike others, almost like a candid sit down, allowing the audience to capture the true story behind names and faces. Leading and managing an amazing team of creatives to create moving and compelling stories! While in charge of managing, shooting and producing all newsroom studio shows at USA TODAY, I built successful video platforms with daily franchises for news, money and entertainment. I have worked with and trained many staff on proper storytelling. I’ve used my storytelling approach to field produce creative video packages at the Boston Marathon, SXSW Interactive, the State of the Union address, both 2012 political conventions and the Presidential Inaugural Ball, the Met Gala, and a number of awards shows, including the Tony’s and the MTV Movie Awards. My passion if Video Storytelling and making people connect with the stories they are watching. I had the opportunity to visually spread the message of wellness in the workplace for ‘Wellness Corporate Solutions.’ From conceptualizing the shots, to directing and shooting all the way through post and editing, this project was a great one!
