Since graduating filmmaking in University of the Philippines, Diliman in 2004, I have directed documentary films tackling issues of environment and society. and have further studied advanced documentary filmmaking under German, French and Dutch filmmakers in various workshops and specialized courses organized by Goethe Institute-Manila and Goethe Institut-Hanoi. My work as a full time documentary film director allowed me to travel to different countries for filming and attending festivals where some of my works are screened. I have collected a number of awards of excellence for documentary and fiction films both locally and abroad. Aside from documentaries, I also direct commercials, advertisements and corporate image films. In 2014, I established a filmmaking school.

Emil (EJ) has been absolutely amazing. His communication, professionalism, and work ethics are highly recommended. Not only did he produce exactly the kind of footage we were hoping to receive but actually even better. He also worked very independently and managed to take care of all the local / on-site logistics without us micromanaging him. We couldn't have asked for a better project partner.

EJ was great to work with, he really captured the positive and uplifting spirit of this story and it's main character. His communication was really good throughout the project and he was very responsive to our feedback. We are very happy with the final film and would work with EJ again.
This 2 minute short film features the Philippine's first "Ghost Bike" renamed as LIFECYCLE to commemorate the death of a cyclist who was fatally gunned by a motorist due after a traffic altercation.

This is the story of a small library open to the public 24/7. It has no rules, no memberships, no librarians. books are free for every one and yet they multiply instead of being depleted. I am the director / DOP of this short documentary for BBC. I arranged to film the character bringing all my shooting gears and the bringing the knowledge that I am going to tell a great story.
Reflecting on his decades of work as a political activist, his life, and his personal struggles Bonifacio is on his final journey of transferring his advocacies to the younger generation. Produced in a span of three years, the film tackles the relationships and conflicts between a different generation illustrated through an intimate story of a father and his daughter.

Synopsis NICE PLACES TO DIE accompanies people who share their lives with the dead and some literally with corpses. Told by an undertaker’s son, the audience is taken to a trip from Argentina to Manila, Cairo and Sulawesi, to places that all have something in common: Life!
