Jekaterina Saveljeva was born in Narva, Estonia, grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and was based in Ireland for over 10 years. Jekaterina began her career in Ireland working with local newspapers. In 2012 she was doing freelance work for the New York Times. In the same year, she was awarded the Simon Cumbers Media Fund to work on a story in Tanzania. Jekaterina’s work has also been published in the Irish Times, Fairplanet, Metro Eireann, Folk er Folk (Norway), Vision Magazine (China), Photojournale, and has been used by AP and Reuters. She has worked as a photo editor at the Reuters Pictures, as well as studio photographer and editor at Studio Tomas Saraceno. Finalist of PhotoPhilanthroy Photography awards in the Student Category 2014. Her photographs have been exhibited in Estonia, Ireland and Poland. In 2014 Jekaterina graduated from Dublin City University in Media Production Management (B.A., Hons), and has a diploma in print journalism. She speaks Russian, English and basic French and Spanish.
