I am a journalist and a correspondent for Euronews and other foreign media in Αthens. I also work for Athens Macedonian News Agency. Over the last 20 years, I have worked at Greek Public Television and various economic newspapers and have also contributed reports to foreign newspapers and sites. I covered extensively the tragic wildfires in Eastern Attica in 2018 and have reported from the European Parliament in Strasbourg, from the Balkans and Greek islands during the migration crisis. I am mainly interested in international news, diplomatic affairs, and migration issues. I have studied Communication and Mass Media at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and also hold an MSc in European Communications from the same institution. I speak English, French and Spanish.

They have arrived to Metsovo in Greece where they have been asking people if they feel any improvement in their lives since the crisis that hit nearly 10 years ago.

Last month Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Istanbul, where he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two leaders underlined the importance of dialogue despite their long-running disagreements. Over the last two years, the two neighbors have been increasingly at odds over a number of issues, including competing claims in the eastern Mediterranean and migrants. But these disagreements haven't stopped people from both sides of the Aegean from communicating, meeting, and even falling in love. Fay Doulgkeri met a couple in Athens to find out how they feel about frayed relations, and whether recent steps taken on the political front can pave the way for reconciliation.
