With over 7 years in the business, Mahacine is one of the young generation of reportage makers and media producers and fixers. Based in Casablanca – Morocco, she offers a wide variety of journalistic or production services to international and national media, or companies. She has worked with some of the biggest names in the business including PBS Newhour, AlJazeera English ,CCTV, TV GLOBO, RFI, The Washington Post and 2M TV. She also produced content and conducted 30 interviews for " Women", the new documentary of " Yann Arthus Bertrand" and produced a documentary about El Solitario, an european independent community of motoriders. Where other local fixers may tell you, no, it can not be done, Mahacine tells you, let's try. Since 2011, she has advised on themes and topics, completed in-depth research, set up, planned and accompanied filming, directed long TV reports, arranged licenses, and booked camera crews, rental cars and hotel rooms. Mahacine is also regularly hired as a director, interviewer and fixer for national and international TV broadcast.
In this very sensitive topic, I needed to take on the responsibility of convincing the minister of religious affairs in order to get their approval for visiting the school where the trainees study and live them for filming them and also assuming any consequences that might arise during shootings. My function consisted also of convincing the conservative female guides to accept us in their houses.
This was very complex, requiring a sensitive and creative approach to access and the need for multiple government permissions. I prepared during 5 weeks all the permissions required for the international crew, contacted all the people we were trying to film and interview in order to make an accurate schedule of filming in many cities and also assured the translation from arabic/ french to english

The sexual harrasment in a metropolis like Casablanca is a big issue. Through the portraits of 4 ladies: student, farmer, mother and a young worker, I tried to show how heavy is it to be sexually harrassed by her teacher, employer, neighbour and not being to talk about it with the family and colleagues at the risk of being seen as the source of the problem.
