I'm an experienced multimedia journalist with a proven track record of over two decades in journalism, and more than 10 years of experience in leadership and management positions including leading innovation in TV, digital and multimedia storytelling. Career highlights: - As an ICFJ-Google Fellow, I trained journalists at the Indian digital news startup 'The Wire', in the adoption of workflows for immersive-interactive and VR storytelling - Trained and mentored journalists at 'The Wire' through the process of producing their first-ever weekly 360 video property called '360 Of The Week' - the first such weekly VR journalism property by a newsroom in South Asia - As Managing Producer, I helped set up South Asia's first multimedia convergent newsroom at WION (World is One News). As ICFJ-Google Fellow, I helped leading Indian newsrooms adopt immersive interactive digital formats, tools and workflows for 360 videos, augmented reality, virtual reality and drone-based storytelling. My mandate was to help newsrooms and journalists connect better as storytellers with an audience that is increasingly digital and mobile, and in the metaverse.
Worked on developing and producing 'Digital Dilemma', a digital storytelling format for social media platforms, focussing on developments in the field of AI and their social, political and economic implications.
Responsible for producing and outputting news bulletins and flagship news programmes including 'The Newsmakers' and 'News Hour'. In early 2020, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, I designed and delivered a remote workflow for TRT World's news bulletins that would allow Programme Editors, Deputy Programme Editors and Output Producers to remotely build and take news bulletins to air.
