Kelly Cannon is a journalist and lawyer based in Washington, D.C. She recently left law to embark on a career in journalism and currently reports on politics, law and justice and foreign affairs. Her work has been published and broadcast with ABC News and local ABC affiliates. A licensed attorney in both New York and Illinois, Kelly transitioned from the leal profession to embark on a career in journalism after living abroad for the last few years. She has spent her life across borders, living and working in London, Paris, Ireland, and Chicago, along with extensive travels throughout the Middle East and Africa. She speaks English, French, conversational Spanish. Kelly is a graduate of Boston College (B.A.), Loyola University Chicago School of Law (J.D.) and most recently received a master’s degree (LL.M.) from King’s College London after authoring a dissertation on issues of U.S. policy in international law. She will receive her master’s in journalism from Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism in June 2020.
