Sona Margaryan (producer, Armenia) has a degree in Linguistics and English Literature. She has been involved in documentary, media, and film projects since 2012. Sona is very much eager to raise and address issues concerning human rights. She has been working at Bars Media Documentary Film Studio a producer, and has worked on documentaries, as well the TV series “Mysteries of Armenia” and “My Army” which were aired on Public TV of Armenia. Furthermore, she’s produced projects/short films for the US Embassy, IDeA Foundation, Aurora Prize, GIZ Armenia, Chai Khana, etc. She attended and presented her projects at the B2B Doc Producers Meet Producers Co-production Forum - 2020, European Film Market -2019, EurasiaDoc Co-production forum 2019, GAIFF Pro Market - 2018-2020, Leipzig Co-Pro Market, DocsBarcelona, Baltic Sea Docs, and etc. Sona has experience in working with international crews and producing documentaries with them. Recently she has worked as a local producer for a short documentary for VRT TV (Belgium) titled “Voetvolk”. She has worked with many TV channels and organizations such as France 2, Eurasianet, WDR, ARTE, Amnesty International, etc. Sona is fluent in Armenian, English, and Russian.
