Nancy Hanzhang Shen is an award-winning Producer/Director/Editor with 8+ years of global experience in Film/TV/Video/Media productions and Social Media Marketing both in the US and Asia. Her past work has been seen in the PBS, HBO, FOX News & Business, China Central Television, and Academy Theater at Lighthouse International in New York. Nancy Hanzhang Shen grew up in Hang Zhou, China. She earned her BFA at Zhejiang University of Media and Communications in China and her MFA at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She is a person with a keen interest in social issues such as unemployment, healthcare issues, migration, and human rights. Growing up in a diverse but unique culture has given her rich insights into dramatic changes taking place in the world. She has directed, produced, and shot a number of short films, which have played internationally in numerous festivals and exhibitions including Tribeca Film Festival in New York, the Short Shorts Film Festival in Japan, Filmoteca de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, and Shanghai International Film Festivals in China. Her graduate thesis film, “Why Am I Still Alive”, was the finalist of the Student Academy Award (the Oscars) and Love Your Shorts Film Festival, and won the Best of Show, Best Shorts Competition, and was nominated for Best Picture at the Short Shorts Film Festival.
