Through six videos, the Daily Maverick looks at what transformation looks like in cricket in South Africa- from the cricket heartlands of the rural Eastern Cape where young cricketers bowl in the dust, to high performance venues in urban areas- it is a complex issue that needs continuous discussion.
Students shook the South African nation to its very core in 2015 as protests swept across campuses. Shutting Down the Rainbow Nation captures the energy and heart of the student-led movement, which shut down higher education institutions around the country. It speaks to the policing of the black body, state violence, and the fall of Nelson Mandela's 'Rainbow Nation' project.
