About Bailey
As both an undergraduate and graduate journalism student at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, I have focused on refugee and migration topics. I am trained and have a degree in Broadcast Journalism and have worked for 3 news stations, two in Arizona, one in Nebraska. I enjoy telling long-form, emotional stories that help my viewers connect with the subject. I have completed 3 documentaries in the past 3 years and film, edit, produce all on my own. My first documentary, Speak, followed two Somali refugee students through the public school experience in Arizona. My second and third documentaries were conducted in Arizona and Croatia, where I was an assistant producer for a State Department Embassy project. The story topics explored Syrian Refugees using the Balkan countries as a route to Europe. As I approach my graduate graduation in May of 2018, I am excited and interested to find news and media organizations that find a passion in the same stories I do.

This short documentary was created for the Arizona State Capitol Television Station. It explores the concept of Domestic Violence and unhealthy relationships in America's Youth, and how various parts of the community plan to combat it.
The Balkan Route

The Balkan Route is a TV Magazine style documentary aired on HRT in Croatia. This documentary was funded by the United States Embassy in Zagreb and completed by a team of 15 American, Croatian, Serbian, and Albanian journalists. This series explores how Syrian refugees are using the Balkan countries as a rote to Europe.

Speak is documentary that follows two refugee children through their experiences in the Arizona Public School system. Hana and Fuad moved to America with their grandmother in 2010, leaving the rest of their family behind in Somalia. These two young children have already survived war, and now they must figure out how to fit in in their new life.
