I've covered South Asia and Afghanistan over the last 10 years as a video journalist for a number of international news organisations- Al Jazeera, the New York Times, Washington Post, Financial Times, AFP and France24, amongst others. I shoot, edit and produce my own videos and a lot of the work, especially for AJ+ and the NYT, is geared for an online audience. I've also got on-camera experience, both as an anchor and as France24's South Asia/Afghanistan correspondent. I've worked on video features ranging in length from a minute and a half to hour-long documentaries, and most things in between. Major themes include environmental issues, displacement and conflict.

Vikram responded to this project promptly and showed initiative in covering it in the most visually engaging way. He travelled to a different location and coordinated the shooting very well. He provided high quality footage and a very detailed translation/transcription. I would recommend him for future projects.

India is the world’s third highest pharmaceutical drug manufacturer by volume, producing $12 billion worth of drugs annually. It exports them around the world, and is often called the developing world’s pharmacy. But the glut of cheap synthetic drugs such as opiates, sedatives and amphetamines and a lack of regulation has lead to a massive spike in prescription drug abuse within the country.
