About
Multilingual Danish filmmaker in London, and alumnus of the National Film and Television School. With a journalism background trained across television and radio news and features programming, and experience in hostile environments, I focus on the human impact of global conflicts in my works. I believe documentaries hold the ideal prism to share underrepresented stories. Awarded by DANIDA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), recently, a finalist for the One World Media Awards and shortlisted for a student BAFTA and Grierson Awards 2023. Sending Aya Back
Aya, a Syrian teenager in Denmark, is threatened with deportation to a place she cannot remember. Under a hostile immigration system, Denmark has begun trying to send back refugees from Damascus, claiming the city is now safe under the dictatorship of Bashar al-Assad. Aya's brothers are allowed to stay, since if they returned they would have to join the military. We join Aya at her graduation surrounded by her schoolmates, teachers, friends and family who are rallying around her as she fights to stay.
