As a documentary filmmaker, I produce and direct compelling stories that explore the complex realities and challenges of our world. I combine journalistic rigour, cinematic sensibility and compelling narrative structure to create work that is both accessible and in-depth. I've undertaken projects on the ground in diverse locations, including Sudan, Ethiopia, Egypt, Bangladesh, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Libya, Chad, Cameroon, Morocco, Tunisia, the Gaza Strip, and aboard a rescue ship in the Mediterranean. I leverage an array of cameras, including the C70, C300, FS5, FS7, and FX6, demonstrating a profound cinematic and aesthetic sensibility while embracing an intimate documentary style. My work has been featured on Al Jazeera, Arte, BBC, NRK, RAI, RTS, SVT, The New York Times, ZDF, and more.
Libya, No Escape From Hell is an eye opener on the migrants’ reality in Libya but also on the horrific machine that has been set up and the scale of those responsible for the situation that take advantage of European policies.
A few weeks after the fall of Omar Al-Bashir, thousands of Sudanese gathered en masse every day outside army headquarters to demand the establishment of a civilian government; before being repressed in blood by the military.
In June 2022, shocking videos started circulating online, showing violent clashes between African migrants and Moroccan border guards. They were filmed on a tiny piece of land where Morocco meets Spain – a gateway into Europe – and show the bodies of African migrants being thrown to the ground, beaten and crushed. Twenty-four people died in the incident, and many more are still missing.
