Olive oil soap making is a tradition stretching back hundreds of years in northern Syria. This is a story of how the techniques and passion for this process have been passed down the generations of one family despite the difficulties of conflict. Beautifully shot, this video was viewed hundreds of thousands of times and reposted by sites such as Al Jazeera.
Filmed in one of the most historical and beautiful sites in Damascus, this short film tells the story of the ornate wooden boxes that are a specialty of the city.
Years of conflict and hardship has not stopped communities around Idlib from pursuing their hobbies and traditions. Here, the art of mosaics is explored, demonstrating the creativity and variety that can be seen from people's homes to the great Umayyad Mosque in Damascus.
