I'm James, a shooting PD with a documentary and journalism background - based in London and Manchester. For two years I worked for Google / YouTube as a PD, creating content across the US and UK. I know the world of brand content very well and feel confident and enthusiastic about directing and producing within this genre. I run New Take Films, a short form documentary company that has just been shortlisted for Production Company of the Year. In December I returned from Pakistan where I was producing and directing a documentary entitled Section 298. The documentary focuses on the persecution of female minorities in remote regions of the country. This shoot involved working with vulnerable contributors, building strong rapports and filming on location with a small team. Fashion designer Joe Jervis suffers from Ataxia, a rare degenerative disease which rapidly degrades a persons speaking, muscle control and motor skills. People with Ataxia are often confused for being drunk due to their slurred speech and lack of muscle control.
