The Most Notorious Border Crossing of the Middle East
Kalandia border crossing is a tragic symbol of the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation of their land. Kalandia is the main checkpoint between the northern West Bank and Jerusalem. Resistance graffiti on the separation barrier, the watchtower is smoked black from previous Molotov cocktail-attacks, and a daily long queue of Palestinians checked by heavily armed Israeli soldiers.
