I am multimedia journalist based in Sydney, Australia. My big passion is video: DSLRs, editing, sound recording, the whole thing! I like it in high definition and delivered fast. I am experienced in event/content video and looking to put my skills towards storytelling. I'm big on public interest journalism that communicates stories and issues through real people and their lived experiences. I am an experienced radio host and produce a media criticism show called Fourth Estate on Sydney's 2SER 107.3 radio. I'm savvy with photography and new forms of journalism, including data and social media.

Here's a story I wrote for DW in the hours before midnight on the sleepless night of the Sydney Siege - the Australian news event of the year. I was producing for Al Jazeera English and was braced against a tree near the police cordon, contending with nearby cockroaches. We’d settled into the tenth hour of the siege and Australian social media had just lit up with the #Illridewithyou tag.

I photographed the 2014 Walkley Awards for Excellence in Journalism. These pictures were sent instantly from camera to phone, where they were captioned and tweeted from the official event account within moments of being snapped, gathering dozens of shares.
In the opening hours of the Sydney Siege, I reported live for Al Jazeera English from the scene of the cafe siege. Al Jazeera was among the first international media on the scene.
Following the Sydney Siege, I worked to a tight deadlines to deliver three Sydney interviews for documentary programme Listening Post’s episode on the coverage. I was responsible for scheduling and interviewing Sydney talent, wrangling interview audio, delivering overlay material by file transfer to London headquarters and obtaining comment from Australian media organisations.
