Born and raised in Costa Rica, Valeria obtained a Licenciate degree in Film Production at Veritas University. She was a producer in the Cannes Award winning short film Follow the Frog in 2012, and ever since, she’s worked in different areas in film production that include 1st AD, Fixer and Production Manager. Valeria worked as an additional 2nd AD in Will Smith’s feature film shot in Costa Rica, After Earth, and as a production costume assistant in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace, shot in Panama. As a fixer, she has worked on numerous documentaries and reality shows produced by BBC travel, PBS, NBC, CNN Create and NRK TV, among others. She served as production manager for the BBC’s mini series, Stephen Fry in Central America: Costa Rica episode. She was also the producer in Hamish & Andy’s South America Gap Year, Costa Rica episode. Recently she was the fixer of the PBS documentary The Hummingbird Effect. She’s currently based in San José, Costa Rica.
