I'm a freelance radio, print and video journalist based in Iraq. I have been covering the Middle East for the past six years, first as a producer for NPR's International and Breaking News Desks and more recently as a freelance reporter for NPR, PRI, Foreign Policy, Sky News, The Daily Beast and Global Post. As a producer for NPR I covered presidential campaigns, natural disasters, wars and humanitarian crises. Now, my work focuses on Iraq, a country I have been covering since 2009 which continues to surprise and fascinate me.
