WHO convened a Malaria Ministerial Conference in Cameroon, to bring together Ministers of Health and senior government officials from the 11 "High burden to high impact" countries in Africa, as well as global malaria partners, funding agencies, civil society organizations & other stakeholders. As a bilingual Emcee, I moderated this high-level meeting, including vibrant discussions on key issues in the global malaria response. I moderated the post-conference presser.
A film shot in Senegal, to raise awareness of international humanitarian law (IHL), with the international soccer star Kalidou Koulibaly. The film titled "Defenders" is first aimed at young people who carry weapons, to make them aware of the basic rules governing war: the ban on targeting civilians, the need to minimise the effects of military operations on women & children, and the obligation to spare surrendering enemy combatants. This also marks the 75th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions.
