About
Phil Clarke Hill is a documentary director and photographer. In his ten year career he has worked across five continents, shooting and directing a multitude of stories. His specialist subjects are activism, human rights, environment, culture and travel reportage. Often working with culturally-marginalised communities, Phil aims to bridge the gap to show their side of the story in the mainstream media. Since 2014 he has been based between Brazil and the UK. A Latin American specialist, he has dedicated much of his career to the continent – regularly working throughout the region since 2011, covering a diverse range of subjects and assignments. Phil has a long track working for some of the most respected names in media and journalism such as the BBC, Guardian, CNN, National Geographic, Google, Vice, Aljazeera Network, the Washington Post, UNHCR, UNISDR, UNWHO and many others.

3D printed prosthetics that greatly reduce the cost for for users
There's an estimated 2 million hand amputees Worldwide, the majority of them have no prosthesis. Invariably this is due to many prosthetic options available being prohibitively expensive. Open Bionics have developed a hand that can be 3D printed in around 42 hours and costs just $3000 which is a fraction of the cost of similar options currently available. They also have kids superhero bionic arms!
