Andrea Chignoli works as a film editor since 1995. Her filmography includes the award-winning fiction films “NO”, (nominee for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2012 Academy Awards and starring Gael Garcia Bernal), “Violeta went to heaven” (2012 World Cinema Jury Prize Sundance Festival) and “Circumstance” (2011 Audience Award Sundance Festival). She has also edited several documentaries, including "499" (2020 Jury Prize Hot Docs Festival), “Cielo” (2017 New York Film Festival official selection), “Propaganda” (2014 Jury Prize Visions du Reel Film festival), “My life with Carlos” (2010 Audience Award and Best Documentary Award at San Diego Latin Film Festival), “74 square meters” (2009 ITVS found documentary, screened at Global Voices PBS). She was a creative advisor at 2017, 2018 and 2020 Sundance Documentary Edit and Story Lab. She is a three times recipient (2009, 2011 and 2012) of the Pedro Sienna Award best Chilean film editor of the year and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science (Oscars) since 2018. She has been recently nominated as best Iberoamerican film editor in the 2020 Platino Awards for her work on the film “Spider”. Andrea holds an MFA in Film, from Columbia University, New York. She was a Fulbright Scholar 2002-2003.
