I'm a freelance writer, photographer, and videographer and editor based in Johannesburg, South Africa. I've contributed video content to the African Hip Hop Blog, Africasacountry. I've also done work for 350.org's Climate Change campaign, and the pan-African energy start-up AfLead. I'm currently editing a documentary focusing on skin lightening among young people in South Africa. My interests run the gamut; I'm comfortable filming live bands in badly-lot clubs, fashion shows, social impact work, travel documentaries and more.
A Gentle Magic explores the issue of skin-lightening in South Africa from a social lens, using gorgeous, jarring and experimental cinematography to create an intimate and ultimately poetic portrait of South African youth and culture.
