Murat Gökmen is an award winning London-based filmmaker working in documentary, branded content, commercials and short film. In recent years he's made films for The New York Times, Vice, Red Bull TV, Condé Nast, Google, Audi, Ancestry, BBH and Karmarama. Murat's been shortlisted for a One World Media Award for his short documentary about the fishermen of Gaza, Sayadeen, and as a Producer he was part of the team that won an Emmy for The New York Times documentary, The Forger. His first narrative short as Writer and Director, Talk To Leon, premiered at the Oscar qualifying Flickers Rhode Island Film Festival in August 2019 and went to on to be screened at festivals around the world including the BAFTA qualifying London Short Film Festival in January 2020. Talk To Leon’s festival run ended in May 2021 at Shortie Film Festival in New York where he won Best Director.
