About
I am a correspondent/ video journalist/ producer with SBS World News Australia, the country's most respected world affairs news program. When I am not reporting, I am the Newshours Planning Producer. I have embarked on 4 months leave and am keen to undertake new projects. I have nearly ten years experience in cross platform television, online and print reporting, most recently on assignment along the Thai-Burma (Myanmar) border. I spent much of last year as a VJ reporting the revolution and election process in Egypt, filing compelling material using Bgan and FTP compression over internet connections for package delivery to tight daily deadlines. Prior to that I worked in Timor Leste as the fledgling nation was formally recognised. I have also reported from Cuba, Indonesia and Russia. I have been nominated as an Asia Pacific Journalism Centre Fellow and I have also sat as a judge on the Walkley Awards for Excellence in Australian Journalism. As a testament to my excellent reporting skills, in 2011 was invited by the Walkley Foundation and International Federation of Journalists to make films about journalists safety around the world.
