I'm an award-winning journalist with over twenty years' experience working as a broadcast producer of news and documentaries as well as a reporter for print and radio outlets. Over the years, I've covered topics ranging from fracking to polygamous Mormons; I’ve interviewed both the homeless and the Secretary General of the UN; and I’ve shot anywhere from prisons to palaces. I started my broadcast career working for CNN in Rome, and then continued back in the United States as staff producer for Globo TV of Brazil, for Eurovision and for ARD German TV. As an independent broadcast producer, my clients have included Bavarian TV, ARTE, ZDF German TV, as well as Swedish, Danish, Dutch and Norwegian television. In recent years, I've delved into print and radio, winning a regional Edward R. Murrow and a New York City Press Club Award, among others, for my feature reports. I love to travel and speak (or manage to get by in!) various languages.
Here I researched and produced a report on the growing “Oathkeeper” movement: sheriffs and others who swear to uphold their oath to the Constitution above all else -- even if it means disobeying direct orders or laws. I thoroughly researched the topic, found all interview partners and set up all shoots, including the militia filming. Produced for reporter Ralf Hoogestraat for ARTE TV.
I researched and produced this report on the difficulties facing private contractors injured in war zones. Unlike servicemen, they often must battle with private insurance companies to get treatment when they return home with PTSD or physical injuries. Produced with Uri Schneider for ARTE TV, a highly regarded German/French arts and documentary channel.
As an independent, I researched, produced and reported this radio report on the controversy over fracking in upstate NY -- it won a regional Edward R. Murrow award, a Deadline Club award, and a NY Press Club award. The work entailed extensive interviews with activists, farmers and others on both sides of the very heated debate over whether to ban fracking in towns in Otsego County, NY.

I researched, produced and reported this radio report on a man imprisoned for 19 years under the harsh Rockefeller Drug Laws who had to battle to be released after the reform of the laws. It won a National Headliner Award as well as a New York Festivals award. I produced and reported it as an independent, and it ran on WNYC and on CBC.

I researched and produced this report for ARD German TV, capturing a rare interview with polygamist Winston Blackmore, former bishop of a Fundamentalist Mormon splinter group. With more than 20 wives and 120 children, Blackmore had long been reluctant to speak to the press. I also interviewed Blackmore's ex-wife, Jane, who had left the community and whose children remain with Blackmore.
This is one of many hard news reports I've researched and produced. I conducted all interviews for this report on the Facebook IPO for ARD German TV, asking whether the hype of that historic event will meet reality.
