Hi, I'm Amy! I'm a former TV news reporter turned positive storyteller and filmmaker. After years in TV news, I was discouraged by the constant influx of negativity and was determined to expose the "good news" - people working for real, concrete change in communities around the world. That's why I founded ONEPASS Productions - to create inspirational productions with a purpose, and to tell the stories that so often go untold. My motivation is to educate, to mobilize people for good, to touch lives, and to hopefully be just a small part of the change along the way. This mission has taken me around the world to work with a wide variety of international non-profits, businesses and individuals - from the UN Development Program to Volkswagen South Africa's Community Investment Initiative. From Colombia to Zambia to China, I've produced stories ranging from education to micro loan business development to conflict recovery. I can one-(wo)man band an entire production but love focusing on interviews and editing content to tell compelling stories.
Barack was born to a quadriplegic mother who was raped. Born with a disability that prohibited him from walking, he spent most of his young life in a baby orphanage until Kenya Relief brought him into their children's home and worked to give him a better future. Barack is thriving today because of the work that Kenya Relief does in their community of Migori, Kenya.
Mobility Worldwide brings not only mobility, but dignity and personal freedom to disabled people in rural areas in more than 100 countries around the world. Their free, 3-wheeled carts give recipients the ability to work, go to school, and to be a part of the community again, in areas where the disabled are often ostracized. The joy they have when given the ability to move is unparalleled.
My latest report in a new series called The Good News, profiling inspirational stories across Africa and eventually across the world. This report focuses on Steve James, an American man who found himself heading to Kenya after a personal tragedy. He has turned that tragedy into a legacy of hope for hundreds of thousands of Kenyans, establishing a full-service clinic, school, and home of orphans.
