I call myself a Social Technologist: a job description that includes photographer, writer, documentarian and story-teller. I also consult and train others on how best to find their own voices with tried, tested and emerging technologies. Outside of video projects for clients like the UN and British Council, I'm a longtime champion of podcasting and advise Al Jazeera in Doha on audio. I work worldwide. Often with news agencies. I use a diverse skill-set to highlight the plight of refugees, put politicians on the spot and attempt find the story behind the headline. On April the 22nd I traveled to Damyns Hall Aerodrome to fly in the GoodYear blimp. It was also my first day out with the Fujifilm X100 camera so i grabbed some images & added them to audio recorded on the Zoom H1 & iPhone4. Mike Nerandzic was the pilot.

I created this video on the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War as we approached the 4000th American combat death. A World Health Organization report based on Iraqi Health Ministry figures estimated that at that time 151,000 Iraqi civilians were killed between March 2003, the start of the invasion, and June 2006. Many of the reports of civilian deaths.
In late November 2010 I was challenged by Vodafone to travel from Lands End to John o'Groats with no money or food. I was given five £10 pay-as-you-go FreeBees SIM cards to use as currency and I bartered my way for 900 miles using social media.
