I started making films when I was a teenager and shot some film for a TV station when I was in college. When digital video cameras came on the scene in the 1990s, my employer at the time, the Voice of America, began a program to provide video stories online and to affiliate stations around the world. I was the first correspondent to jump on that opportunity, in 1997, and continued shooting video until I retired in June, 2017. In most cases I shot the video and did the interviews for the story, then wrote it, voiced the narration and edited the package. Since then I have been involved in projects of my own and have shot video for a cosmetic commercial and for a YouTube channel host. I have also been involved in some film contests in Houston.

I had been doing reports on blues singers and musicians when I heard about some guys who had played with blues legends and were now making their own record in Houston. I was able to shoot many of the sessions and do interviews with all the participants for this slice-of-life-style documentary. I shot everything in this except the BB King part at the very beginning.

This is a news feature about research carried out at the Texas Medical Center in Houston on implantable devices for the heart. I shot the interviews and b-roll video in Houston and sent it to Carol Pearson at VOA in Washington. It was edited and produced there.

I shot the interviews and b-roll in Lincoln, Nebraska and then added some footage taken by a colleague who traveled to Iraq. There is also a shot or two from AP or Reuters. This was part of a four-part series I did about the Yazidi in Houston and Lincoln, the US cities with the largest Yazidi populations.

This is a report about the Comanche of today in Oklahoma and their attempts to acquire legendary chief Quanah Parker's Star House, which is in private hands on a lot not far from the reservation. The Comanche and Quanah played big roles in the history of this region.
